Artist's Comments

First stamp I've ever made so forgive any crappy quality.

There I go, inviting controversy to my dA page. Just so you know, hate speech will not be tolerated and will be reported.

Sensible, open-minded discussion is fine. But this doesn't cover God, because there's no proof for his/her/ze/prefered pronoun existence and is a personal belief system.

Anyway, there are so many 'Gay/Queer and proud' or 'Gays are people too!' themed stamps that I felt it was about time there were more stamps for another much shunned group of people.

As this is a subject very close to my heart and I'm sick of reading so much negativity from people who have no idea what they are talking about.

There may be some people who chose to live as the opposite sex through cultural choice, but for large numbers, it's a medical condition and they see it as a medical condition.

It always amazes me that people who accept and understand that there are birth defects like webbed toes and cleft palates, still somehow think that our brains, the most delicate and chemically sensitive part of our body is somehow immune. It's natural for a certain percentage of people to be born with missing limbs but gender will always be perfectly defined because....the Bible says so?! Hmm. Right.

I know, I really can't work out where they're coming from half the time.

When you look at people who are born intersexed, and all the other birth defects/genetic problems under the sun, you'd think that people would realise that sex and gender are not necessarily the same thing and that the two ends of the extreme are not the be all and end all of everything.

I've no problem with people having a belief system, but I think it's about time a large section of humanity stopped listening to what a handful of guys who are long dead once wrote because they thought it was a good idea and probably had some kind of relevance to them at the time.

The world is a different place now, what was seen to be true 2000 years ago just doesn't fit any more.

Nice Stamp get's the message across very well.

Just because something can be a touchy subject doesn't mean it should be shunted to the side and ignored.

Word. Gender is a continuum, not a black and white dichotomy, and there is nothing inherently wrong with presenting a gender identity that feels correct to you. People should make their best attempt to understand others' differences rather than shit all over them out of fear, ignorance, or deep-seated prejudice that they ought to be confronting instead.

What was written all that time ago isn't even what they are reading now. It has been edited, mistranslated, re-mistranslated, and modified hundreds of times. Even if it was Divine Dictation back in the day, it is now a product of lots of editors.
